In fall 2013, Greg McAfee and his company made a commitment to the Beavercreek community by securing the naming rights of a remarkable new sports facility on Research Park Drive. The McAfee Sports Center promises to bring diverse athletic opportunities to Beavercreek which will be a win for kids, parents and local businesses. Once the facility has new wood courts, the gym will be able to host volleyball and basketball tourneys, summer camps, and will be the new home of the Beavercreek Stars youth basketball program. Research shows that participation in sports, whether team-based or individual, is a great activity for children that provide a variety of benefits. Sports build self-esteem and confidence, improve social skills and motivates kids to do well in school. By being involved in sports, kids learn the three P’s: patience, practice and persistence. They learn how to take instruction from coaches and cooperate with their teammates. The McAfee Sports Center promises to bring athletic opportunities to a much larger group, which will make a difference for the youth of tomorrow.
